About Us

Between 1995 and 2003 Trunktux’s developer worked as a freelance conceptual car body designer throughout Europe whilst also attempting the delicate balance of renovating an old house in England.

It seemed the family were either frequently collecting building materials or something for the yard or taking refuse away during fall or spring clean-up that was no longer needed. Having dogs that loved water didn’t help either. The trunk and fascia of their family station wagon started to look shabby.

The factory supplied rubber mat was purchased and protected the carpet but not the sides – and it held no water and the fascia was still vulnerable. Surely someone made something more suitable that could be put in the car when needed and easily stored when not.

Nothing was found, so out of frustration and necessity being the mother of invention, we designed the first prototype. It worked but needed development. The idea and geometry and several of the novel features were unique and patented and are now published internationally.

As with any new product it’s important to get maximum impact. The logo, website and the Trunktux brand identity have been created to project a sense of simplicity, not only in its way of thinking but to also give a clean approach in its philosophy.

Trunktux was launched at the NEC Motor show in Birmingham, England in 2004 and has enjoyed a steady growth from then to present day and finally made its long awaited debut in America at The SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Trunktux can easily produce liners to customers own specifications and as there is no complex 3D tooling involved this can be done both quickly and cost effectively. Simply contact us to discuss any specific requirements you may have.
